Kitchen Extension
Ilford, London
12 Weeks
The client sought to have the kitchen of their four-bedroom semi-detached property in East London’s Ilford area extended into the garden, where new paving would also be laid. The brief called for an open plan kitchen.
However, it would be possible for users of this kitchen to open it up even further due to the inclusion of bi-folding doors. This was all part of a larger project where the home’s internal space would be fully refurbished in a contemporary style.
The home would be somewhat remodelled outside, too — such as with the addition of new paving for the front driveway. It all looked like an ambitious undertaking, but we were up to the challenge.
We soon got an architect on the case, drawing up plans for the home’s new design. Subsequently, in the garden, we used a mini digger to create foundations for what would be the home’s completed kitchen extension.
After these foundations were filled, the extension itself started taking shape as we originally saw it on paper — eventually resulting in an empty ‘shell’ within which we were able to undertake plastering and painting work as necessary.
We also took care of all of the electrics and plumbing needed for the overall project — which, once finished, incorporated a kitchen extension as well as an extensive refurbishment of the entire four-bedroom property.
